Every time I read this book,
I get more insights. It’s one
of my all time favorites. I
know many people have read it,
but not many have read it more
than once. Like seeing a movie
for a second or third time, each
time you read Think & Grow
Rich, you’ll pick up something new, as if
it were the first time you ever read it.
This book gives tremendous evidence
to the conviction that anything that the
mind can believe and conceive, the
mind can achieve. Perhaps this may seem
somewhat philosophical, but everything
that manifests itself into reality must first
originate from a thought. With this as
basis, how can you apply this fundamental
principal to your life, family and business?
What thoughts can you create in
your mind right now that, if they
became
reality, would benefit you in the immediate
future? What is your mission? What is your
destiny? The choice is for you to make: you can
live your life by design, meaning you take it one
day at a time and react to the environment and
circumstances that surround you, or you can
Design Your Life.
Designing your life comes from digging deep
within yourself and asking yourself quality
questions. What makes you happy? What are you
committed to? What are you passionate about?
Where do you see yourself in 20 years, 10 years, 5
years, 2 years or even in 1 year? Where will you
live? With whom? How much time will you have
off? What will be your primary source of income?
Will you have other sources of income? If so, what
will they be? How much?

TO OPEN YOUR MIND AND CHALLENGE YOUR THINKING
Each and every time I read this book, I am
reminded that we are the writer, producer and
director of our own lives. The leaders of our
world today are creators because they are decisive,
action-oriented people who accept responsibility,
and who ultimately make things happen. Being a
victim and crying about circumstances won’t help
you or those around you. Depending on how many
times you’ve read this book or where you are in
life, any one of the many elements contained
within the text could have a dramatic, positive
impact upon you. For me, the concept of cutting
all your alternative ties really hit home. What Hill
is referring to is that when you decide what your
outcome will be, and what course of
action you’ll pursue in reaching that outcome,
you need to be 100% committed to
that end. In other words, to use a baseball
metaphor, you can’t get to second base
with your foot still on first base. You have
to cut away from first to get to second.
I see this happen too often with
many agents as they start to grow their
team. For example, they want to add a
buyers agent(s), but they still work with
buyers. In other words, they haven’t made
the decision that the addition of a buyers
agent(s) MUST work.
What I’ve found is that once you make the commitment
that you are going to hire a buyer agent to
work with you (so you can spend your time working
in more profitable areas and stop working with
buyers), you will find a way to make your buyer
department work out of sheer necessity!
That has been true for every segment of my
business. So in summary, when you know what
you want and what you need to do, you must take
action: don’t waiver or vacillate. Take your foot
off first base, keep your determination, focus,
and persistence, and enjoy touching all the
bases as you head for home plate!
